Pregnancy Care

My focus is to help you feel confident and empowered through your entire pregnancy and labor experience!

Why chiropractic care?

Chiropractic care throughout pregnancy can be extremely beneficial for both you and baby. Not only can chiropractic care help reduce aches and pains during pregnancy, it can also help balance your pelvis to create space for baby to move into an optimal birth position. Pregnant women can have safer and more comfortable births by having their pelvis and its surrounding structures balanced using the Webster Technique, which addresses the pelvic bones, hip muscles, low back, nerves, and ligaments of the uterus.

Background and training

Dr. Allyson has focused her career and training on working with pregnant women and children. Becoming Webster Technique certified (a chiropractic technique to balance the pelvis of pregnant women) in 2014, Doula trained in 2015, receiving advanced education training in the Spinning Babies Approach, has allowed her to excel in personalizing care specifically to the pregnant mama. She offers extensive knowledge about the incredible journey your body experiences throughout pregnancy, how to best adapt during each trimester as well as provides you with additional at home care recommendations to support your changing body.

Home visits

If you are not able to come into the office, Dr. Allyson offers home chiropractic visits. Each visit will last around 30 minutes.  Prenatally, she will be using the Webster technique, recommended by Spinning Babies®, to assess the entire spine with a major focus on the pelvic region including the muscles and ligaments directly affecting the position of your uterus. When this area is balanced, the baby will have room to move into an optimal position for birth.

Postnatally, Dr. Allyson assesses your spine as well as your babies. Even the most “natural” birth can create birth trauma for you and the baby's body. It is crucial to get your spine and nervous system checked to ensure optimal rehabilitation and proper neurological development for you and your baby.

**There will be an additional $50 per visit fee for travel outside of the Greater Lansing Area
