Zone 1: The Glandular System
What are the “Zones” and how do they work?
Dr. Thurman Fleet taught the following – “there are only six kinds of disturbances that can affect the human body. These are GLANDULAR, ELIMINATIVE, NERVOUS, DIGESTIVE, MUSCULAR, and CIRCULATORY. All diseased conditions, aches and pains, and other discomforts experienced by the body can be attributed to one or more of the above disturbances to the body’s 6 systems or Zones.

When symptoms occur in the body such as pain, digestive issues, concentration issues, heart palpitations etc. there has been a disruption of normal function to one of these centers due to the effect of emotional, physical, or chemical stress.
How do we correct this imbalance?
To correct this imbalance in the brain the Zone doctor will examine the patient to determine which of the brain centers are not in harmony with the systems they control. When a brain center is not sending the proper signals to its system, all bodily material associated with that system suffers. In order to correct this, the zone doctor stimulates specific points in the spinal cord. Stimulation of the proper points by the Zone doctor sends healing energy up the spinal cord to the brain centers that need balancing. The balanced brain centers are then able to send out the proper signals to the body’s systems and the body is better able to heal itself.
Zone 1: The Glandular System
This month we are focusing on the First Zone: The Glandular System. This system includes all of the glands in the body like the thyroid gland and pituitary gland. We have glands all over our body including our stomach and reproductive organs. Our glands are what produce the chemical messengers (aka hormones) that travel throughout the body telling the organs what to do. When we have an imbalance in this brain center we may experience symptoms such as:
- Memory issues
- Energy issues (too much or too little)
- Digestive issues
- Decreased metabolism
- Trouble regulating body temperature
- Poor sleep
- Imbalanced hormones
- Loss of concentration
- Easily irritated and heightened temper
- Poor outlook on life
Along with getting your Glandular System checked and balanced by a Zone Certified Practitioner, another great way to create balance in your Glandular system is by doing something CREATIVE!
Our glandular system is also associated on an emotional level with our creativity. Do you like to paint? Write poetry? Dance? Cook? Whatever it is that makes you feel creative, do it! Not only will you feel happier, but your body will also reap the benefits.
