November is National Family Caregivers Month

November is National Family Caregivers Month

November is National Family Caregivers Month, which means it’s time to acknowledge the people who take care of their loved ones 24/7. They deserve recognition for all that they do! This means it’s time to take care of your family while they are taking care of you! If you have a family member who is helping out with household tasks, cooking, or looking after children, thank them today.

Things you can do for caretakers:

  • Offer to give them a break by being with the patient
  • Doing errands for them like grocery shopping and laundry
  • Preparing meals
  • Cleaning
  • Yardwork
  • Get them a gift certificate for self-care like massage, a haircut, or mani/Pedi.

If you are a caretaker, you know how challenging it is to find a balance when caring for someone else. Make sure you’re taking care of yourself too by knowing your limits and finding support from others when you need it.

This could be:

  • a relaxing massage
  • chiropractic care
  • a spa day
  • ordering food in or going out
  • taking nap
  • going for a walk

One of the most important things for caregivers to remember is that they are not on their own. They don’t have to do everything themselves; there are people who can help them. Take advantage of respite programs offered by many communities, including adult day centers, nursing homes, churches, and other organizations that provide safe places where an individual with Alzheimer’s or dementia.

Chiropractic for Chronic Pain

In honor of this month, we want to share how Chiropractic has helped many patients with chronic pain transform their quality of life!

The most common treatments for chronic pain are prescription medications and surgery. But what if there was another option? A study found that, among patients with low back pain, chiropractic treatment led to about the same improvement as traditional medical care (which includes drugs and surgery). If you’re looking for a new way to manage your chronic pain without the potential side effects of medication or surgical intervention, then chiropractic care can be an effective alternative.

Your life doesn’t have to be limited by your aches and pains anymore. There are ways out of this vicious cycle.

Chiropractic care focuses on helping patients restore their spine’s proper alignment by using gentle techniques like spinal manipulation or other therapies such as massage therapy. Many times these treatments provide relief from chronic back or neck problems because they help decompress nerve roots which reduces inflammation in the surrounding tissues and helps reduce pressure on nerves which controls sensation throughout the body.

Chiropractic care can be very beneficial because it doesn’t come with all of the side effects that medications do and it’s more natural than popping pills on a daily basis. Chiropractors are highly trained professionals who use non-invasive techniques to help patients get relief from their chronic pains without having to resort to drugs or surgery.

If you or a loved one is experiencing chronic pain, we encourage you to make an appointment with us. We’d love the opportunity to see if we can transform some of your pain into a better quality of life.
